PRO PERFORMANCE PRESCRIPTION SPORTS GLASSES

haegelle-2011-web.jpg

Allsports USA Pro Performance multi-lens Rx prescription sports glasses are renowned as being some of the best on the market. If you would like us to add the prescription lenses, choose either single-vision, bifocal or no-line progressive lenses from the drop-down menu above before completing your purchase. More detailed information on this process can be found below.

Pro Performance sunglasses are suitable for most types of sports and leisure activities. If you want to add a clear, un-tinted lens to the package, buy the Pro Performance Plus instead (listed as a separate product in this section).

The Frames

Our prescription sunglasses are built around a matte-black finished frame that has a prescription Rx clip housed in the back, whilst the tinted, interchangeable lenses sit on the front. This two-part arrangement allows for great versatility and performance, whilst the wrap-around styling blocks unwanted wind and light encroaching from the sides and bottom of your vision. The Pro Performance sunglasses look good too, easily matching the style of many non-prescription designs.

The frames are lightweight and tough, whilst the Rx clip, made from an ultra tough TR90 compound, ensures maximum protection for your eyes from impact.

The tinted lenses clip onto the top of the frames, allowing them to be flipped up for momentary 'normal' vision when required.

De-Centered and Anti-Scratch Coated Lenses

Wrap-around sunglasses offer great benefits when it comes to blocking unwanted light and wind from the sides of your vision, but placing a curved lens in front of your eyes would normally cause distortion. However, all Allsports USA lens sets are de-centered, which means they are calibrated to remove the distorting effect.

By filtering blue light, Allsports USA lenses improve contrast and depth perception, making them perfect for use on the road. Polarized lenses remove glare by filtering horizontal light.

The Package

Pro Performance prescription sunglasses come with the following as standard:

  • Category 0 (yellow) lenses, for low light use, making them perfect for use on cloudy, dull days

  • Category 3 polarized (flash mirror). Perfect for sunny conditions - the polarized filter greatly reduces glare, making for better definition

How To Order

To add prescription lenses, choose your preferred option from the drop-down menu at the top of this page and fill in the boxes that appear before proceeding to the checkout. Please read through the information below before you proceed.

Is My Prescription Suitable?

Pro Performance sunglasses can be used for any regular prescription where the SPH (Sphere) requirement is less than, or greater than, 4.5. Due to the curvature of the tinted lenses, they may not be suitable for those with very strong prescription requirements that exceed 4.5.in this please call (630 479 7449) prior to ordering so that we can check with our lens manufacturer if they are able to fit your RX into the carrier.

If you are not sure about filling out the RX form online please call us so we can help you to complete the form 1 630 479 7449

They are also suitable for bifocal, no-line progressive and prismatic lenses.

Pupillary Distance (PD)

This is the distance, in millimeters, between the pupils of your eyes, when measured across the front of your glasses. PD's typically fall in the range of 55 up to 72mm. If you choose to have us make up your prescription sunglasses, we will need to know your PD. Opticians measure PD during an eye test, but they often do not put the result on a prescription card provided to the patient. If you do not know your PD, please ask your optician what it is. Unfortunately, some opticians will not release the measurement and in the USA, they are not obliged to do so.

You can measure your own PD easily. With your regular glasses on, ask someone to hold a ruler up against your glasses and measure off, in millimeters, the distance between the centers of your pupils.

How Long Does it Take to Make My Prescription?

Turnaround times from date of order is typically 5 - 7 business days for USA orders, and a little longer for overseas.
